How you start

Starting off

Enrolment in Star Student is simple. You can sign up online at any time or call our Business Manager, Michelle, on 020 8899 6640 between 8.30am and 5.00pm.

• Once you join Star Student, we assign you a qualified, experienced, UK primary school teacher who finds out about you, your child, your way of life and what your child’s doing at school
• This process includes
  - a formal assessment programme devised by our Head Teacher, Mary Brennan, to ensure you get the best from Star Student
  - Phone contact between you and your Star Student teacher
• Based on the assessment, we devise an individual programme, specifically for your child, to suit
  - their level of academic achievement
  - their progress within the National Curriculum
  - what they’re presently doing at school
  - your home life and lifestyle
  - the amount of time you can commit
• If your child has any particular special needs, their programme will reflect their needs; if appropriate, we’ll assign them a Star Student teacher who has relevant experience and expertise
• We will continue to devise the programme for you and your child on a weekly basis, taking into account any particular activities you have planned – perhaps after-school sports or a summer holiday
• Your teacher supports you week by week in your activities, monitoring progress and adjusting the programme as you go.

You have your own secure area on the Star Student website where weekly exercises can be set by the teacher and where you or your child can upload any written work for marking and assessment.
